Project TST
The story of TST.... The idea of TST was made by Hans in spring 1997. Although there was no name at the time, there was the idea. Hans then met Mike Ross and then THE WEATHER CLUB began. Hans already had a very small TST and but got destroyed by rain. Then Hans and Mike got wood together and got some supplies and started building the New TST (TST 1). Which is still in existance today. (pictures below). That is the story about how the TSTs became part of the weather club.
TST 1
The TST 1 was built by Hans and Mike in Mikes basement. Inside TST there are a few pieces of equipment. First there is a micro-taperecorder. The micro recorder gets put into a small sandwich bag. The micro recorder will record all sounds that will  be around the TST. Such as rain, thunder, and hail.  Second there is an alarm clock. The clock helps us to time the storm and alarm all the chasers so they know we are on a Storm Chase. Also there is a thermometer, that tells us the temperature.
The picture of TST on the right had a new addition. The lightning rod. But that broke so that is no longer there.
TST 2
TST 2 is the newest addition to the Weather Club. TST 2 was made at Hans's house and equipment is still being added. TST 2 is made for, Floods, Hurricanes, or Tropical storm like conditions. Unlike TST 1 that is made for Severe Thunderstorms and Tornadoes, TST 2 is made for only certain storms. TST 2 has much "experience" in regular storms but whenever there is a hurricane or a very strong tropical storm its going to be placed where wind and debris will hit it. The TST 2 is very strong and we want it to be hit with something. Even if that means getting destroyed. If TST 2 gets destroyed in a hurricane or tropical storm we will have it on video tape and the TST 2 would have served its purpose in The Weather Club!
